Bulletin: Sens TV pay-per-view put on hold for 2008-09 season
 Ottawa Senators
Sep 24, 2008, 4:18 PM EDT
OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators announced today that Sens TV, the club’s pay-per-view broadcasts, will be put on hold for the 2008-09 season because of the limited numbers of games available.

The selection of games for Sens TV was reduced because of an increase of broadcasts on TSN and Rogers Sportsnet, a greater number of Saturday games reserved for CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada, and the two first games being played in Sweden. There are currently 76 Senators games on the broadcast schedule, with the remaining games all on Saturdays.

“Our fans, sponsors and commercial establishments have supported Sens TV, and we are committed to returning next season with a well-balanced schedule,” said Jim Steel, Senators vice-president of broadcasting. “We were the first NHL team to introduce high-definition pay-per-view games and we offered a variety of content that couldn’t be presented on our regular broadcasts.”

The NHL is working toward identifying key match-ups for next year’s potential pay-per-view schedule.
