City of London

Description

The St George's Cross with a red sword in the canton. The red sword is said to symbolise the sword that beheaded St Paul, the patron Saint of London.

The Flag is a banner of the City of London's coat of arms

Use

The City of London flies the flag from the Guildhall, which is the headquarters of the City of London Corporation.

In addition, the flag is flown daily from Mansion House, the official residence of the Lord Mayor of London.

The City of London also administers the Heathrow Animal Reception Centre at Heathrow Airport, and the flag is sometimes flown from this location, when senior City of London officials are in attendance.

The Flag can also be seen flying from other locations in the City of London, including Tower Bridge.

Lord Mayor of London

The Lord Mayor of London's flag is the same as the one above, defaced with the full coat of arms and a golden fringe.
