    NANJING, East China, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Former UK Championship winner Ding Junhui defeated 18-year-old rival Xiao Guodong 6-2 to retain his national title at the China Championship of Professional Snooker in Yixing, Jiangsu province, on Tuesday.

    Ding was utterly offensive through all frames, finishing the last one 73-0 to win the one-sided match with advantageous skills and profound experience.

    Ding, who won the UK Championship in 2005, was awarded a prize of 15,000 yuan (about 2,000 U.S. dollars) for the title of the national championship, which kicked off on Dec. 29, 2006.
