  • BG City Council authorized purchase of 82.5 acres on April 24.

  • First Board of Trustees included D.C. Brown, a Napoleon dry goods merchant; John Begg, a Columbus Grove farmer; D.T. Davis, a Findlay banker; J.E. Collins, superintendent of schools in Fremont; and J.D. McDonel a Fostoria clothing merchant.

  • Ohio General Assembly appropriated $150,000 to be used for construction of two proposed buildings – a college building and a dormitory.
