Merthyr office

As part of the Making the Connections agenda, we aim to make public services in Wales more citizen focused, driven by a commitment to equality, social justice and efficiency.

By 2010, the Assembly Government will establish new centres at Merthyr Tydfil, Aberystwyth and Llandudno Junction.

By 2010, the Assembly Government will establish new centres at Merthyr Tydfil, Aberystwyth and Llandudno Junction.

These will bring the full breadth of Assembly Government services closer to the people of Wales by being located across the country.

Establishing new offices will:

  • improve accessibility and communications
  •  stimulate economic growth in the local areas and
  •  create better working environments for Assembly Government staff

Around 450 staff now work at Merthyr Tydfil, up to 535 at Aberystwyth and up to 650 at Llandudno Junction.

Some existing posts will relocate from Cardiff whilst others existing locally will be brought into the new offices. There will also be career opportunities throughout Wales as new posts are created.
