Rucker Park is a playground basketball court in New York City.  It is located on 155th street and 8th Avenue. What's special about this park is that a lot of NBA legends and current players have played ball at Rucker Park. Rucker is the place where all the players show their skills in passing, dribbling, shooting and dunking, and playing defense.  All of the good players show their "street ball" skills at Rucker Park.

People that have played ball in Rucker have earned a big name for themselves. Players like  Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Dr. J, Nate "Tiny" Archibald, Connie Hawkins, even former Senator Bill Bradley have played "street ball" at Rucker Park.

Some of the best basketball players in the NBA also play at Rucker Park in the summertime. Players like  Stephon Marbury, Allen Iverson, Mark Jackson, Jamal Mashburn, Shawn Marion, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Garnett have showed their skills at Rucker.

Just like the NBA, Rucker Park has its own legends. The Legend Peewee Kirkland once led the Rucker in scoring for the 1970 and 1971 season. He once signed a one-year contract with the Chicago Bulls. But because of drugs he couldn't play. Peewee once scored 135 points in a semi-pro game. And averaged 70 points per game in one season.

Earl "The Goat" Mannigault was a great guard. He could also jump to the moon. One time he jumped to the top of the basket to get a $20.00 bill!
