One-Way Fares
  • The full one-way fare is $1.75. For seniors (65 and older), the one-way fare is $1, payable with the PATH Senior SmartLink Card. Children ages 5 and under ride PATH free.
  • SmartLink is the primary fare card of the PATH system. PATH also accepts the QuickCard, PATH Single Ride Ticket and Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard.
Discounts
  • A discounted fare of $1.30 is available to all SmartLink and QuickCard customers who purchase a 10-, 20- or 40-trip product. Additional savings are provided to SmartLink customers purchasing 1-, 7-, or 30-day Unlimited Passes.
  • Get the best discounts per trip with a PATH SmartLink Card. Visit PATH SmartLink pages at www.pathsmartlinkcard.com or call 1-800-234-PATH(7284). Seniors may apply for the Senior PATH SmartLink Card. Senior applications are available at PATH stations or at www.pathsmartlinkcard.com/seniorcard.html.
PATH Vending Machines
  • PATH vending machines allow customers to add trips to the Senior and regular PATH SmartLink Card and also sell the PATH SingleRide Ticket and the Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard. Large PATH vending machines accept cash, credit or debit/ATM cards. Small PATH vending machines only accept credit and debit/ATM cards and do not sell the PATH SingleRide Ticket.
  • QuickCards are sold at selected newsstands, which accept cash and/or transit benefit vouchers only. Click here for a list of vendors.
PATH Turnstiles
  • PATH turnstiles do NOT accept cash, the MTA SingleRide Ticket, the MTA Reduced-Fare MetroCard or any Unlimited Ride MetroCard.
  • Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard holders may use their card for up to four people at any one time within an 18-minute period.
  • The PATH SingleRide Ticket is valid for two hours from time of purchase.
  • Should you lose your card in the turnstile feeder, contact the station’s Passenger Information Agent immediately or pick up the Passenger Assistance Phone to provide relevant information on the station, turnstile number and time of day.
Suspension of Service
  • Passengers who have paid their fare but have not been able to reach their destination because of suspension of service are entitled to a trip reimbursement. Please use the Passenger Assistance Phone at the station or call the PATH Information Center at 1-800-234-PATH (7284).
Fare Evasion Warning
  • Warning: Fare evasion is punishable under the laws of New York and New Jersey. Offenders are subject to summons or arrest.
Fare Card Terms & Conditions
  • The PATH QuickCard and the Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard is valid until the expiration date on the back of the card. The PATH Single Ride Ticket is valid for 2 hours from the time of purchase.
  • PATH does not refund trips on lost or expired QuickCards or MetroCards or on unregistered SmartLink Cards. QuickCards will expire within 180 days from purchase date. To address problems with your MetroCard, call the MetroCard line at 212-638-7622 within New York City or 1-800-METROCARD elsewhere.
  • If you choose to use our free registration service for your SmartLink Card and your Card is lost, stolen or damaged, you are eligible for replacement of the trips/days remaining on the Card at the time of notification to the SmartLink Center. You may notify the SmartLink Customer Service Center by using the Replacement Card feature in your Web Account or by calling the SmartLink Customer Service Center at 1-800-234-PATH/7284 and select option # 4 for SmartLink information. A $5 card replacement fee will apply. Note: All Senior SmartLink Cards are automatically registered with PATH.
