Crime Statistics

The Crime Analysis Unit is a resource component that is available to members of the Department, other City departments, and the general public.  It assists the operational and administrative functions of the Department by collecting, analyzing, and disseminating information that can be used for preventing and suppressing criminal activities, aiding the investigative process, and increasing apprehensions and the clearance of cases.

REPORTS
The data contained in these reports is dynamic and may change as cases are reclassified or records expunged.  Incident Reports indicate the location by street and type of incident only and do not necessarily reflect whether an arrest was made or if charges are pending.

The Charlottesville Police Department does not assume any liability for decisions made or actions taken or not taken by the recipient based on the information provided in these reports.

  • Daily Bulletin
The Daily Incident Report is updated Monday through Friday after 9:00 am for the previous day(s).  In times that the Crime Analyst is unable to update the report, it will be updated the next available day for the full report period.  The information contained in this report are based on public reports of a crime that are documented as policy by our Patrol Division.  In most cases they have not been fully investigated and some may never result in charges issued or arrests made based on information gathered following their report.  These bulletins are provided on this web site as a public service to inform the public and the media of activities of the Charlottesville Police Department.
