Yes, it's a wrap!  A record wrap, one for the books!

Stats for the year -- 6004 total entries, thanks to seven meets over 530 entries, topping out at 710!
We have had 29 performances reported so far over 900 points on the IAAF tables (not the heptathlon/decathlon tables, but the tables which encompass all events).  This includes one age group and four masters marks, but we know there are plenty more of those out there.  Our prize money list will not be finalized until September 1 -- you have until then to submit a mark for consideration.  I have moved the date up for marks to be reported up so that we can finalize the list.
At this point, we are looking toward 2010 already, and making plans to try to incorporate an optional element of pre-registration (we would still have day-of-event entries readily available).  But if we are to look for electronic timing and results to make our lives easier, we've got to get computerized, and that is helped immeasurably by pre-registration!  We will also ask again whether our folks at Shoreline would allow us to put in a hammer cage (about $25k) and facilities -- including a water jump -- for steeplechase (another $25k).  We would have to do fund-raising to handle that, but we could hold all events!  And, before the start of next season, we will offer a clinic for our officials for USATF certification purposes, something which we will require of those who wish to be on our stipend program.
Our officials were the best we've ever had.  Over sixty people helped out at one point or another, and our most regular included:
-- Jan Kavadas in the high jump
-- Becca Gillespy Peter in the pole vault (whose husband is now employed at Cape Disappointment and needs a replacement for 2010!)
-- Frank Dauncey, and Elizabeth and Richard Neale in the long jump/triple jump, plus other members of both of those families
-- Shot put and discus officials Thornton "T.P." Perry, Phil Finger, Will Conwell, and Reedus Thurmond
-- TurboJav master Lukas Peter
-- Javelin stars Ken Johnson, Duncan (1980m Olympian) Atwood, and Fred (1972 Olympian) Luke (who was also first CNW president back in 1972)
-- Starter and meet manager Brian Oster
-- Gate guy and hospitality director Rex Philpott
-- Finish line folks Fred Reiner, Lynne Graybeal, Mark "Softball" Dewar, Trisha & Uli Steidl, Quinn Chasan, Janet Palmer, Tahoma Khalsa, Spencer Walsh, Paul Huynh, Maria Gonzalez, Nick Gonzalez, Laura Hixson,
-- General utility guys Andrew Cook, John O'Hearn, David White-Espin
Of these, Kavadas, Oster, Palmer, Peter, Philpott, and Reiner joined me in making every meet!!
And -- of course -- our sponsors: VSM Contractors (kid's ribbons), NW Trail Runs, Eastside Runners/Microsoft, Michael Allison and Arny Stonkus, Super Jock 'n Jill, Run26/Columbia Mortgage, the Subway® Washington Games, the aforementioned Thornton Perry, and Brooks Running.
All results should be up on the web, along with the 900-points list.  Here are the final week's results...
