  • Williams Snookered By Snow

Welsh snooker ace, Mark Williams is no stranger to getting out of difficult situations but he had to enlist the help of his sponsor to escape being snookered by the current cold snap hitting the UK.

The world number 15, starts his Pokerstars Masters campaign with a first round tie against Rory McLeod on Monday morning, but hasn’t been able to move his car since the beginning of the week.

Remote would probably best describe Williams’ residence, and the roads leading to it certainly wouldn’t be a high priority on the gritting schedule.

Trains from Wales to London have been cancelled, so he couldn’t leave anything to chance.

Thanks to his sponsors, Ron Skinner & Sons, one of the largest independent car retailers, he has been supplied with a top of the range 4x4 to make sure that he gets to his Monday morning appointment with Mcleod, who is making his Wembley debut.

The two time Wembley winner told Global-Snooker.com “I would normally travel to Wembley the day before I play, but I am going to head up on Saturday just to be on the safe side.

“There is no way I would be getting out of my drive by Monday, so it’s a relief that my sponsors have helped me out.”
