Every decade, Caltech undergoes accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Caltech's current reaccreditation review includes three theme-based self studies in the areas of undergraduate education, the Honor Code, and undergraduate research. Our Institutional Proposal was accepted by WASC in September 2006.
Our Capacity and Preparatory Review was submitted to WASC in August 2008 and the WASC Visiting Team came to campus in November 2008. In early February 2009, we received the WASC Visiting Team Report. The Educational Effectiveness Review was submitted in early January 2010 and will be followed by a return visit of the WASC Visiting Team the end of March 2010. The Caltech Accreditation Steering Committee will coordinate accreditation activities with student and faculty groups throughout the process.
