Football at high altitude

Many of the FIFA 2010 World Cup matches will be played at moderate altitude. The calculators shown here can demonstrate the effect that this might have on a players performace. Even a 1% drop in performance might be enough to make the difference between winning and losing, so adequate altitude training is essential. The altitude also affects the flight of the ball, such that an average goal kick would fly 4 yards further, because there is less drag.
