Space, Place, and Appalachia

The 2008 Southern Spaces series "Space, Place, and Appalachia" is a collection of innovative, interdisciplinary publications that explore Appalachian geographies through multimedia presentations. Pieces in this series interpret sites of cultural significance, as well as spatial imaginaries, engaging such topics as music, folk cultures, labor practices, mountaintop removal mining, population displacement, and popular representations of Appalachia.
