2000 / 2001 Challenge Tour

The Challenge Tour is the secondary snooker tour, established for all those players who are not competing on the Main Tour. The Challenge Tour is open to both members and non-members of the WPBSA.

There are over four hundred participants currently playing on the Challenge Tour. This number will be reduced to 128 for the 2001 / 2002 tour.

Qualifiers for the Challenge Tour take place at two main venues.

Northern Venue
Manhattan Club and Snooker Centre, Harrogate

Southern Venue
Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon

Draws

All matches played in the qualifying rounds are played over the best of 7 frames.

All matches at the final venue up to and including the semi-finals will be the best of 9 frames and the final will be played over the best of 11 frames.

The last 16 players from each of the two qualifying venues will make up the last 32 stage, at the final venue.

Seedings

Seedings are based on:

2000 UK Tour, Order of Merit List produced at the end of the 1999 / 2000 season.

2000 / 2001 Official World Rankings.

WPBSA members with no official ranking.

Remaining non-members at random.
