WARWICK, R.I. (WPRI) - President Barack Obama has landed in Rhode Island.
Air Force One landed at 3:49pm.
President Obama was greeted by Senators Jack Reed & Sheldon Whitehouse, Representatives Patrick Kennedy & James Langevin, as well as Providence Mayor David Cicilline.
Cicilline is the Democrat in the race to replace Rep. Kennedy during next week's election.
President Obama will attend two fundraisers on behalf of Cicilline Monday. He will also visit a Woonsocket factory, American Cord & Webbing, where he will talk about the economy with local workers.
Rhode Island House Speaker Gordon Fox, and Rhode Island's Episcopal bishop, Right Rev. Geralyn Wolf, also greeted the President.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio was not at TF Green Airport when Air Force One landed.
During a radio appearance Monday morning, Caprio said of the President, "He can take his endorsement and really shove it," after he learned that the President would not endorse him despite trailing Independent Lincoln Chafee and a challenge for second in the polls by Republican John Robitaille.
