Award-winning journalist Amy Goodman, host of the daily, grassroots, global, radio/TV news hour Democracy Now!, is on a national speaking tour to mark DN!'s 12th anniversary and launch her third book with journalist David Goodman, Standing Up to the Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times.

DESCRIPTION: Amy Goodman ('79), host of "Democracy Now!" will talk about the latest book written by Amy and her brother, David Goodman: Standing Up to the Madness: Ordinary Heroes in Extraordinary Times.

Amy, who spent a year studying at College of the Atlantic, has written a book about everyday people who take a chance and stand up for what they believe in - and also offers advice on what you can do to help. Amy and her brother David have traveled the country to detail the ways in which grassroots activists have taken politics out of the hands of politicians. Standing Up to the Madness tells the stories of everyday citizens who have challenged the government and prevailed.
