  • Howard's Bar in downtown BG was demolished to make way for the new Wood County Library.

  • The Business Building and the Industrial Arts Building opened.

  • Forrest Creason Golf Course expanded from a 9-hole course to 18 making it the only 18-hole course in the area.

  • Dave Wottle brought a gold medal to the U.S. track team and fame to BGSU in cross country.
