Actress Go Hyun Jung, who played the villain Lady Mi-shil in the hit historical drama “Queen Seon Deok,” bagged the prestigious Daesang Award for TV in the 46th Baeksang Art Awards held March 26 in Seoul, South Korea.

The awards recognized the outstanding Korean movies and dramas of 2009.

On the other hand, Yun Je Gyun, who directed last year’s box-office hit film “Haeundae”, won the Daesang Award for movies. The film sold 11.3 million tickets in Korea.

In the acting awards for movies, Ha Jung Woo of “Take Off” was named best actor to beat Won Bin, Kang Dong-won, Kim Yoon-seok and Jung Jae-young.

Ha Ji Won of “Haeundae” was chosen best actress over Kim Hye-Ja, Kim Ok-Bin, Choi Kang-Hee and Seo Woo.

In the TV category, Hallyu star Lee Byung-hun won the best actor trophy for the hit drama series “Iris” while Kim Nam Joo won as best actress for “Queen of Housewives.”

Lee beat Kim Soo-Ro, So Ji-Sub, Yoon Sang-Hyun and Jang Hyuk. Kim won over Kim Tae-Hee, Kim So-Yeon, Go Hyun-Jung and Han Hyo-Joo.

“Take Off” was named best movie while “IRIS” beat “Queen Seon Deok” won as best drama.

Other nominees for best movie are “Haeundae,” “Mother,” “Secret Reunion” and “Thirst.” “Queen Seon Deok” beat “Queen of Housewives,” “IRIS,” “Brilliant Legacy” and “Slave Hunters.”

The hilarious “High Kick Through The Roof” was named Best Variety Show/Sitcom while “Tears of the Amazon” won best documentary.

Winning as best newcomers were Kim Nam Gil of “Queen Seon Deok” and Hwang Jung Eum of “High Kick Through the Roof” for TV and Lee Min Ki of “Haeundae” and Jo Ahn of “Lifting King Kong” for movies.

On the other hand, Lee Seung Ki of “Brilliant Legacy” and Girls Generation’s Yoona of “Cinderella Man” won the popularity awards for TV while Jang Geun Suk of “Itaewon Murder Case” and Choi Kang Hee of “Goodbye Mom” won in the movie category.
