Welcome to CEC

Dear Friends:

Welcome to the Congressional Entertainment Caucus website.  I trust that you will have an informative visit.  I am delighted in the formation of this new bipartisan caucus and I am honored to serve as its Chair.

The Congressional Entertainment Caucus was established for the first time during the 108th Congress to engage Members of Congress on issues important to the entertainment industry.

The Caucus recognizes the economic and cultural contribution of the entertainment sector, which brought an estimated $535.1 billion to the U.S. economy in 2001 and exports films, music, and television programs to more than 150 countries.  It also recognizes the many challenges to the industry today, such as copyright protection, runaway production, and the development of new digital mediums.  As a means to raise Congressional awareness on these issues, the Caucus serves as a clearing house for the dissemination of vital information and as a forum to discuss and formulate innovative approaches to the many challenges the entertainment sector faces.

Please take a minute to get acquainted with the thirty-five individual Members who comprise the Congressional Entertainment Caucus and learn about their efforts to advance issues affecting the entertainment community.  Please click on the direct links to each Member website.  For a list of the Entertainment Caucus' current activities, please view the News and Press section.

I hope you enjoy your visit here today.  Please do not hesitate to contact the Caucus should you have any questions.

 Sincerely,
Brad Sherman
 Caucus Chair
