About Millfield Development

Millfield Foundation

Supporting Scholarships & Bursaries

"To nurture talent by providing the very best facilities, teaching, coaching and opportunities in which young people can exercise and explore their abilities; and to give awards to those in financial need."

Jack Meyer

Following the legacy set by founder, Jack 'Boss' Meyer, Millfield School continues to give support and assistance to gifted young people throughout their education. For some pupils this entails assistance with fees in the form of a scholarship or bursary so that they can experience the many opportunities Millfield has to offer.

Millfield Foundation, chaired by Duncan Goodhew MBE (1970 - 75; Walton), is a completely independent entity set up to continue this process by channelling generous donations and legacies into vital funds solely for scholarships and bursaries. This is in a continuous state of development through fundraising, events, donations, and the kind and valued support of alumni, parents and friends of the school.

Maintaining Millfield's diversity (the ‘Millfield Mix') and widening access is at the heart of the Foundation's aims.

The Millfield 75th Gala Dinner, which took place in London last September, was a very important fundraising event for the Foundation. The generosity displayed on the night was fantastic and distinctly Millfield in spirit. We are delighted to report that the funds raised on the evening were in excess of £110,000, enabling the School to fund two Foundation Sixth Form Scholarships.

The Millfield Foundation Internship Auction

This on-line auction is one of the new and exciting ways in which Millfield Foundation is raising money for scholarships and bursaries.

Launched by Lord Sebastian Coe on the night of 21st September 2010 at the 75th Gala Dinner in London, the aim of the auction is to give current parents and OMs the opportunity to bid for some amazing and unusual work experience placements for their children, which have been gifted by a range of companies to raise money for this worthy cause.

If you would like to support the Foundation in this way, please visit the Millfield Internship Auction Website for more details and your chance to bid!
