New DVD Releases - December 7, 2010

Leonardo DiCaprio stars in this puzzle film written and directed by Christopher Nolan. The story takes place in a near future where there are specialists capable of extracting information from a dreamer. The extractor does this by entering into another person's dreams. A tycoon hires an expert extractor named Cobb (DiCaprio) to take the technique to the next level: Cobb is to invade the dreams of a young heir to a corporate empire and implant an idea in his head. The film blurs the line between reality and fantasy, and the viewer is drawn into a dream-within-a-dream-within-a-dream.

This is the fourth film in the animated series that includes Shrek (2001), Shrek 2 (2004) and Shrek 3 (2007). By this time around, Shrek (voice of Mike Meyers) is a married man with three kids, and he's popular with the local villagers. But he longs for the good old days and enters into a Faustian bargain with the trickster Rumpelstiltskin (voice of Walt Dohrn). Soon Shrek finds himself thrown into an alternate reality where he must struggle for survival. Key returning characters are Donkey (voice of Eddie Murphy), Fiona (voice of Cameron Diaz) and Puss in Boots (voice of Antonio Banderas).
