Despite some earlier reports that Marlon Brando died in hock, the late acting icon's estate has been valued at about $21.6 million, according to his will, which was due to be filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Brando's attorney, David Seeley, confirmed the figure to USA Today, while New York's Daily News reports that the entire estate, including a Beverly Hills home and a Tetiaroa Atoll resort in Tahiti, has been transferred into a private trust to be administered by the three executors of the will.

The California home, perched atop scenic Mulholland Drive near his friend Jack Nicholson's residence, is said to be worth $10 million.

Seeley also said Brando's friend, producer Mike Medavoy, is one of the executors. The others are Larry Dressler, Brando's business manager at the time of his death, and a friend, Arva Douglas.

The double-Oscar winner (for On the Waterfront and The Godfather), 80, died July 1 at the UCLA Medical Center of lung failure. He was not married at the time of his death, and reportedly has at least nine surviving children by four women.

Jocelyn Brando, 84, the actor's sister, told the News that she was at his side at the time of his death, which she described as "quick, it was easy – just the way he wanted it."

Brando was cremated Monday at a private family service.
