For teenage singer IU, every day during the month of December turned out to be a good day as she took her fourth win in a row on Gaon weekly singles chart with her song “Good Day" for the week of December 26 to January 1.
A song with vibrant melody and high pitch ending that expresses a girl’s anticipation and excitement of confessing her feelings to a boy, "Good Day" from IU's second EP album "Real" has been sweeping both online and offline charts of various music sites since its release in early December.
In second place was Sung Si-kyung’s ballad “You Are My Spring” which is the fourth soundtrack to SBS hit-drama “Secret Garden,” a fantasy romance starring Hyun Bin and Ha Ji-won about two people in love, switching souls.
“OH YEAH,” a hip-hop number performed by male duo unit G-Dragon and T.O.P from the boy band Big Bang, landed third on the chart, a slight dip from their place at No. 2 the previous week.
On Gaon’s album section, Girls’ Generation’s live concert album “The 1st ASIA TOUR CONCERT - Into the New World,” released in late-December, debuted on top of the weekly albums chart.
Composed of two albums, the girls' latest release features all 38 hit songs by the group as well as bonus tracks “Beautiful Girls” and “Singing’ In The Rain.”
Coming in at No.2 was “Marry me, Mary Soundtrack Part. 2” from the KBS romantic series of the same name starring Moon Geung-young and Jang Geun-suk and IU’s “Real” went down a notch to land at No.3.
