Population census is a first source to get information about the population. Population number total calculation is carried out in accordance with results of the last population census and every year number of birth and arrivals are added to population number and died and left deducted. According to the results of the next population census, population number is verified during period between censuses. Populations by place of residence are divided on urban and rural population. Cities and settlements are referent to urban places other places of residence are rural localities. Different age groups are used depending on analysis purposes. Average number of population – is a mathematically calculated average number at the beginning and end of the corresponding year. Age – is the number of completed years, months for children under one year old and days for infant under one month. The data on age are compiled by means of inquiry during the population censuses. This data are defined by means of calculation according to movement of the population size from the age X to X + 1. The information of current registration of demographic events is used during these calculations. The data on birth and death is obtained based on monthly statistical analyses of data of the statements on birth and death compiled by relevant Registration Offices of the Ministry of Justice. Number of births includes only live-births. Natural increase of population is equal the difference of number of the birth and death. Crude birth rate is expressed in terms of average annual number of births during a calendar year. It is a ratio of number of live births to average annual population size and computed per 1000 population. Crude death rate is expressed in terms of the average annual number of deaths during a calendar year. It is the ratio of the number of death to average annual population size in the calendar year and computed per 1000 population. Natural increase of the population is computed as a difference between crude death and birth rates per 1000 population. Fertility rate reflects average number of birth per women during her reproductive period and it is calculated by multiplication of age rate of birth by length of each age interval. At the result the sum should be divided by 1000, i.e. this indicator is calculated per women. Crude reproduction rate (gross) covers the average number of girls that woman can deliver throughout her fertility period. This indicator shows the level of substitution of women by their daughters. This indicator is calculated without taking into account death factor and by multiplication of fertility rate by the number of girls born during the accounted year. Gross reproduction rate of the population is calculated as fertility rate. . Share of girls born is considered as equal to 0.488 at all ages of women. Net reproduction rate is calculated taking into account death factor. This rate is characterized average number of girls delivered by one woman throughout her fertility life and substitution of women by their daughters, who are achieved fertility age. Mainly the rate is calculated from averagely per women standpoint. This indicator may be calculated per 1000 women too. If this rate is equal to 1.0, then birth and death rates provide simple reproduction rate of the population. If net reproduction rate is less or more than 1.0, then reproduction rate is reduced or increased. Infant mortality rate characterizes mortality of the infant under 1 year. It is the ratio of the number of mortality cases under 1 year to total number of live birth. This calculation is carried out for children under 5 years old (0-4 years old) and determines level of child death. The notes indicated in the medical records on death are the source of information on death. These records are issued by doctors in case of death caused by disease, accident, suicide, homicide or other external factors (injuries in the result of operations provided by the law, injuries in the course of military actions and etc.). These notes are the basis for indication of causes of death in the death certificate. Coding of death causes and processing of data is implemented according to Death Causes of the International Classification (revised X edition). Death rate by causes is computed as ratio of death number during the year to average annual population size at the same year. This ratio is computed per 100 000 of population and regarding to infants under 1 year – per 10000 live birth. Standardized rate of death is applied for liquidation of the impact of differences in age composition Life expectancy at birth (for 0 age) is an average number of years to be lived by person from a cohort of those born in a given year, if he (she) would be subjected in each age to the same mortality level experienced in the year(s) to which this indicator has been computed. Marriage is the form of relations that determine rights and responsibilities of man and woman to each other and children. The legal relationship between husband and wife is the registration of their marriage at bodies of Registration Office of the Ministry of Justice. Current vital statistics considers only officially registered marriages, while population census considers actual marriages irrespective of the fact whether their marriage has been registered or not. Crude marriage rate is a ratio of number of official registered marriage to average annual number of population. It is calculated as per 1,000 population. Divorce (cancellation of marriage) is a final legal cancellation of marital relation between husband and wife and gives them legal rights to be married once more. The marriage is considered as cancelled as soon as the cancellation is registered by Registration Office of the Ministry of Justice. Crude divorce rate is a ratio of number of official registered divorces to average annual number of population. It is calculated as per 1,000 population. Information on migration of population is received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs registering population by place of residence. According to development of the statistical record documents on arrivals and departures and reflects information on arrivals and departures for the purpose of permanent residence. |
