Huangshan Cup
An invitation event introduced in 2008 with the full title of the ‘Huangshan Cup All-Star Snooker Game’. The idea was that four top 16 players from the UK would play four Chinese players who would come through an elimination contest. Only Stephen Hendry of those originally invited actually took part. Nevertheless there were four top 16 players in the quarter finals and some quality local players. Last minute replacement, Allister Carter walked away with the prize.

Paul Hunter Classic (formerly Fürth German Open)
Although this is a pro-am event, it is included here as, in recent years it has attracted a large number of main tour professionals. Originally known as the Fürth German Open, it changed its name in 2007 to honour the late Paul Hunter. It is usually staged in August or September. In 2009 there were well over thirty main tour professionals in the field. In 2010 it became part of the Players Tour Championship series but for ease of reference I will continue to include the results here as well.

Paul Hunter English Open
Organised by the EASB and held since 1997 as an amateur event, the English Open event was renamed in memory of Paul Hunter and thrown open to professionals from 2007. Only the results since that date are included here. The number of professional taking part was sifnificantly reduced in 2010 possibly due to the increased number of events on the pro circuit.

Power Snooker
A totally new concept featuring nine reds set up in a diamond formation. One red is the 'Power Ball' which, when potted, initiates a two minute spell where all points scored are doubled. Any pot from baulk, re-named the Power Zone, also counts double. Matches are decided on aggregate points scored over a fixed time and there is a 20 second limit on all shots. A feature of the event is audience participation with none of the usual calls for "quiet please".
