AIR FRANCE and KLM celebrate official inauguration of new office in London.
Today AIR FRANCE and KLM are officially inaugurating their new joint offices in London. Plesman House, situated at Hatton Cross, is the new head office for AIR FRANCE and KLM UK & Ireland where 180 staff are based (Commercial and Sales, Human Resources, Costs and Finance).
Originally opened for KLM in 1990 by former President of KLM, J.F.A de Soet, this building will be inaugurated today in its new capacity by the French and Dutch Ambassadors, H.E. Gérard Errera and H.E. Jan de Marchant et d'Ansembourg, in the presence of Patrick Alexandre, Executive Vice President International Commercial Division AIR FRANCE and Paul Gregorowitsch, Executive Vice President Commercial KLM.
AIR FRANCE has been located in Hammersmith for the past 15 years and only recently moved to the newly refurbished office.
"We are delighted to be here today to celebrate this symbolic occasion, which illustrates the shared vision of our two companies" said Patrick Alexandre and Paul Gregorowitsch, during the ceremony.
"We are sure that staff members will benefit hugely from the strategic location of this office as well as being able to work side by side with each other" added Christine Ourmières, Air France General Manager UK and Ireland, and Vincent Knoops, KLM General Manager UK and Ireland.
One of the main objectives of this merger is to meet AIR FRANCE and KLM customers' expectations. In addition to the many existing advantages, customers now also benefit from:
- A large, complementary network, with 242 destinations worldwide,
- Combinable fares,
- Flying Blue, an attractive and generous Frequent Flyer Program.
As part of their aim to work together more closely, the two airlines have developed local synergies such as joint corporate contracts. In the UK and Ireland regional management, both AIR FRANCE and KLM corporate customers have welcomed this program.
As leading members of the SkyTeam alliance, clients benefit from the many advantages generated by this alliance. Recently, the two airlines signed the Memorandum of Understanding with BAA (British Airports Authority) with other SkyTeam members to share facilities in Terminal 4 as of 2008, offering easier connections to close to 3.5 million SkyTeam passengers who travel through Heathrow each year.
AIR FRANCE and KLM recognize their customers' demand for improved access to regional destinations and offer them a wide choice of these cities via the hubs of Paris Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam Schiphol.
Furthermore, the increasing demand for seamless travel is met by the full range of e-services offered by the two carriers, namely online check in and self service check-in at most UK airports. |
