Viral turns snooker ace into Kidman

Steve%20DaviesVideo games publisher and distributor Koch Media has rolled out a spoof online viral that pays homage to Nintendo's Brain Training advertising campaign featuring snooker champion Steve Davis playing the role of Nicole Kidman.

In the viral, six-time world snooker champion Davies, known for his deadpan humour, is seen dressed all in white relaxing on the sofa playing the forthcoming World Snooker Championship Season 2007-08 game. The game is to be released in Nintendo DS format later this month, and the launch is being backed by a through-the-line campaign.

Davis appears in the videogame, alongside a raft of well-known players contesting the World Snooker Championship season.

In the spoof ad Davis is seen playing a frame of snooker on the Nintendo DS. As the video plays, he pots a succession of red and black balls, but then is left with a choice. At this point he calls out to "Nicole" asking "pink or brown" and the camera cuts to Davis sporting a blonde wig answering "brown". He plays the brown and wins the frame.

The film finishes with a cut to the game pack and Davis can be heard moaning: "I'm not even on the bloody cover."

Koch Media is distributing and marketing the title on behalf of games developer Blade Interactive, which recently took the decision to publish its own material.
