CT actually was two episodes, one at 8 and one at 8:30, on ABC. So were the 8:30 ratings any different?
@Rebecca
I think Cougar Town was a 1-hour episode, not two back-to-back episodes.
The Catalina could come back next summer. That’s almost as good as a new GG; and hey, these cheap summer shows, although not doing even good for them, are better than reruns.
@zen
No. Two episodes (for future syndication purposes) and there were two separate title cards, one with each episode.
^They’re even on hulu as episodes #14 and #15 (as on futoncritic). The final episode at 8:30 was the season finale.
@zen & Rebecca
When it comes to ratings, all that matters is how ABC classified the program for Nielsen. In this case, it appears that even though it’s two separate episodes, ABC wanted it rated as a one-hour finale instead of a regular episode and a special.
Yeah, I saw another TV site said 1.2 for the whole hour and didn’t break it down into the two episodes either.
Cougar Town might have been split on Hulu where there might have been two title cards, and it will certainly be split for syndication but when it aired on ABC at least here in northern California, there was only one title card. Regardless, ABC classified it as a one hour program for Nielsen purposes.
8-8:30 1.2 rating in 18-49 3.69 million viewers
8:30-9 1.3 rating 3.16 million
@ Rebecca
I like that your pick is CT
anyway too bad it didn’t adjust up
Even for the CW this is good because it had absolutely no promotion. Also, it is a summer show. Just thought maybe a night without being opposite AGT.
@juan
Thanks. Yeah, it’s too bad CT didn’t adjust up. Oh well. It’ll live on for a while elsewhere. I’ll try to see it online next year (no TBS on my TV).
48 hours mystery wasn’t adjusted up.
Grimm repeated very well, that’s a awesome rating for NBC.
