June 6, 2012 (Burbank, CA) – The CW continues to load-up its first-ever summer schedule with even more original programming, announcing the August premieres for two new reality series THE NEXT: FAME IS AT YOUR DOORSTEP and OH SIT!, as well as the summer debut of AMERICA’S Next Top Model: COLLEGE EDITION.  This summer will also feature season two of THE LA COMPLEX and the return of Remodeled.

OH SIT!, a fun, high-stakes, high-octane musical chairs competition, kicks off the action on Wednesday, August 15 (8:00-9:00 p.m.).  Hosted by Jamie Kennedy (“The Ghost Whisperer”) and actress/television host Jessi Cruickshank (“MTV Live”), OH SIT! will see 12 thrill-seeking daredevils racing head to head through five physically demanding, obstacle course-style eliminations as they each compete to claim a chair, to the sounds of a live band. At the end of the hour, only one contestant will be left sitting triumphant to seize the cash prize.  Adding to the fun, Tanika Ray (“Extra”) will be in the trenches with the contestants both on and off the track and will add color commentary from the sidelines as the action unfolds.

On Thursday, August 16 (9:00-10:00 p.m.), The CW will Go On a nationwide search for undiscovered artists on the verge of stardom with THE NEXT: FAME IS AT YOUR DOORSTEP from executive producer and hip-hop icon Queen Latifah and executive producer Dave Broome (“The Biggest Loser”).  In this new take on the music competition genre, superstar mentors, including Grammy Award-nominated musician and actor Joe Jonas, Grammy Award-winning hip-hop superstar Nelly, pop legend Gloria Estefan, and country star John Rich will travel to where the talent is, immersing themselves in the lives and towns of these local performers and preparing them for the chance to represent their home city on stage, live, in front of America.

On Friday, August 24 (8:00-9:00 p.m.), AMERICA’S Next Top Model: COLLEGE EDITION makes its debut with a new format, new talent and a new judge - the viewer.  Cycle 19 of the show will offer an interactive experience where, for the first time in AMERICA’S Next Top Model history, the public will be able to have a say in who stays and who goes in the competition.  Right now, fans can go online at www.cwtv.com and vote for their favorite contestants based on photo shoots taken during production.  These scores will be used by Tyra Banks and the judges to help determine who is eliminated each week and select viewer comments and videos will be featured in the show.

Also this summer on The CW, THE L.A. COMPLEX returns with the first seven, all-new episodes from its second season, Tuesday, July 17 (9:00-10:00 p.m.).  To lead up to its season two premiere, The CW is currently encoring the entire first season of THE L.A. “America’s Next Top Model” being pushed to Summer? That’s a brilliant although I thought impossible move on the CW’s part.

I’m glad they are keeping “The LA Complex” around. I know the ratings are horrible, but there better than repeats…

  2. Greg

Good idea to premiere ANTM before the fall.

  3. Joel

so does this mean that Cult is going to be paired with Nikita on Fridays come midseason? assuming that ANTM does only 1 cycle this year or 1 cycle in summer and the other in the fall?

  4. david

I agree good idea to have ANTM on in the summer and have something else in mid season or late fall. I am glad they are showing season two of the LA Complex too. I will have to watch it online thow now because i have Pretty Little Liars at that time. I am surprised they are showing more of Remodaled thow because it did so bad the first time a few months ago.

  5. John A

LA Complex they are keeping that around FFS lol

  6. Addy

Somehow, I guess The Next will average above 1.0 adult ratings. Remodeled, ANTM, and The LA Complex dreadful ratings could hurt its original episodes, altough I’m happy with the return of The LA Complex, big fan!

  7. Observer

I can’t believe this is a real network.

  8. SmG

The only promosing one is The Next, I think it may do as well as ANTM like 0.5-0.6. The rest is just fillers.

Also it may be a good idea to premiere ANTM early, but I don’t know how they will fill the void on Fridays later in the season.

  9. Fischer

The Next will flop…. Too many singing shows.

  10. JJA

ANTM will do just fine on Friday nights.

Although, I do wish the CW would take advantage of the summer months to promote Nikita. Since they paid for a full 22 episode season 3, they might as well try to get as big an audience as possible.

Also, is it too late to renew Secret Circle?

  11. Sid

Looks like Nikita will have a repeat of something as it’s lead-in on Fridays.

  12. ROB

can not wait for LA Complex season 2!!

  13. Marsinvestigations1

I knew LA complex would return. CW has nothin for the summer and the reruns do as good (awful still) as new ones

  14. CrazedNovelist

    I can’t wait for L.A. Complex! I absolutely love it! :)

  15. sam

why wait so long to premiere Oh Sit? summers almost over as it premieres

  16. TimsDale4ever

Question: How many singing competition shows are going to be on TV all at one time before all this s*h*i*t stops once and for all?

  17. EatMorePez

Interesting that they’re only airing the first 7 episodes of the LA Complex. That way, they don’t have to air it in September after the new season officially starts. Wonder if the last 6 episodes of season 2 will be held for next summer or ever air at all on The CW?

  18. Tom

With all the cable shows premiering this summer, there’s simply no reason to be watching anything on the CW. The same applies to the fall schedule. My plan is to simply forget about the CW.

  19. CrimTV

don’t see why they can’t air full season of La Complex as don’t all their shows start in October this season, if they ran all episodes with no breaks it would finish Tuesday, October 9, or they could do a two-hour finale on October 2, but it depends on what the Canadian broadcasters do.

  20. Nick

The only ine that looks interesting for me is “Oh, Sit”. Looks like fun.

    @JJA

Also, is it too late to renew Secret Circle?

    Way, way , too late.
