PASADENA -- Caltech will dedicate a new on-campus weather station in geneticist Ed Lewis' name Tuesday, honoring the late Nobel laureate's lesser- known work as a meteorologist during World War II.
The Ed Lewis Memorial Weather Station has been operating in the lobby of Caltech's physical plant since September. It provides real- time weather data to KNBC and several Web sites as part of the WeatherNet network operating on nine school campuses in Pasadena and more than 6,000 throughout the country.
Bob O'Rourke, Caltech's vice president for public relations, said he considered the dedication a fitting tribute for Lewis, who was a legend on campus. "Part of his life was in the …
