U.S. Citizen Services

Greetings from the Consul General

Paul Boyd, Consul General

Paul Boyd, Consul General

Welcome to the American Citizens Services Unit of the Embassy of the United States in the Republic of Korea. This website is updated daily and should be your primary resource when applying for a passport, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, notarization, or any of the other services we offer to the estimated 120,000 U.S. citizens traveling, living, and working in Korea. We also assist Americans facing emergency circumstances, including arrests, deaths and other crisis situations.

I encourage you to register your stay in Korea through the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP), sign up to receive our newsletter and email alerts through asktheconsul.org, and “like” our Facebook page called “Americans in Korea.” Our goal is to reach all U.S. citizens in the Republic of Korea with current security information and other important updates.

Thank you for visiting our website. Assisting Americans overseas is our highest priority, and we look forward to serving you.

Paul Boyd
Consul General
