Since 2006, jobs created by foreign direct investments have more than doubled.

In the last five years, it has become evident that South Carolina is a strong competitor in attracting international companies and foreign investors. The state’s ties with Michelin, BMW, and ZF Group, to name a few, employ more than 100,000 South Carolinian’s and that number is growing.

Check out the numbers:

Year           Jobs             Investment

2006          2,858           $926 million

2007          4,821           $2.06 billion

2008          5,094           $1.82 billion

2009          2,299           $447 million

2010          6,329           $1.06 billion

Thank you to the South Carolina Department of Commerce for compiling the numbers in their economic development report.
