Discussing the Sustainability Legacy of the London Olympic Park

‘Sustainability’ has been the theme of this year’s edition of the Olympic Games - both in terms of the extensive construction of the venues hosting the games and the legacy it leaves behind for Londoners.

FuturEnergia nominated for Sustainable Energy Europe Awards 2012

Hanane Taidi, Head of Communications at PlasticsEurope, is joined by David Crous Duran, public relations manager, Sustainable Energy Europe, in a preview of The EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), a core activity of the Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign being held this year between 18 – 22 June 2012 in Brussels, Belgium.

This year is very special for PlasticsEurope as one of our projects, FutureEnergia, has been nominated in the learning category, from amongst hundreds of other projects, for the Sustainable Energy Europe Awards 2012 hosted by EU energy commissioner Günther Oettinger.

The Sustainable Energy Europe Campaign is a flagship initiative of the European Commission to help Europe achieve its Year 2020 targets for energy and the climate. Every year hundreds of organisations and individuals participate in the EUSEW by hosting Energy Day events and activities that promote energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.

With an unflappable worldwide success over the last 38 years, Playmobil is one of the many business stories our industry can be proud of. In 2011, the company sold 55 million toys, a record we wanted to celebrate with an interview of the company’s CEO Andrea Schauer. From the use of plastics to sustainability and the recipe to the brand’s success, she opened us the doors to what most children would consider as a dream place.
