Nottingham Trent University is a leading professional university, delivering education and research that shape lives and society.

Throughout our long history, we have remained true to a mission focussed on students' ambitions and employers' needs. Today, our close links with employers and strength in employability have gained us a recognised competitive position both nationally and internationally.

We have a strong track record of designing programmes to meet the needs of people at all stages of their life and career and to meet the needs of particular employers.

Our teaching is underpinned by our research. Our world-leading research ranges from cancer immunotherapy and airport security systems to social policy and cultural studies. The quality of our research is demonstrated by the funding we secure from partners who could and do fund research anywhere in the world and choose to fund research at NTU. Our research ranges from scientific research that saves lives to research in the Social Sciences that shapes government policy. Our research and publications in the Arts and Humanities open minds and enrich understanding, from ground-breaking exploration of our shared histories, to the development of global cultural policy and cutting-edge contemporary analysis.

We are a national and international player with a real commitment to the regional agenda. We work actively with regional communities, supporting a range of local priorities including urban regeneration. We have built links with schools and colleges throughout the East Midlands to raise aspirations and attainment in schools. Partnerships with Further Education Colleges are a key element in our work, building pathways from foundation degrees through degree courses and postgraduate training into the professions. Through these partnerships, we unite our commitment to outstanding professional training with our commitment to widening access.
