There are so many that you can add on this list but everyone has different tastes. Personally I would have added Jaws, The Goonies, Big Trouble In Little China, The Rocky Series etc.

When you say "rewatchable movies" I rate leave-your-brain-at-the-door movies amongst highly. I can watch Inception once, maybe twice. But like Kubrick's 2001 I find some films on this list too much hard work, maybe a little too clinical. I would sit and watch Charlie's Angels or Van Helsing anytime of the day. Critical disaster? Sure. Enjoyable? Hell yes. (NOTE: I do love your typical 5 star films but sometimes I just want to escape.)

Inception #1 LOL. God do your knees bleed after so much kneeling in front of Nolan? And The Usual Suspect is one of least rewatchable movies ever. It loses so much, basically take away the "twist" ending and you get a forgettable noirish crime triller. Where is Flash Gordon? Lion in Winter?

Goonies and Cool Running should definitely be up there. Zombieland is one of the most watchable films ever. Glad Inception is at number one though, it is my number 1 film of all time and is my go to if I want to want to watch a grand scale movie. Jurrasic Park is probably the film I watched most as was my first and only VHS for a long while.

Sorry i must protest. Sixth Sense ??????? m night ballbags career is entirly based around the first watch, after that you never watch them again unless you're a goldfish. the village - poop, the happening - poop. somebody needs to stop him. Of all the things you could have had, totally agree with dark night, jaws, goonies. what about police story, duck soup, full metal jacket.

Home Alone? It may be seasonal, but I can watch it anytime of the year as it's so good. Same for Elf, just because it's a chrimbo film, doesn't mean it has to kept till December! I can also watch Clue and Murder by Death again and again. I think this is a poll which is down to personal taste.

Jaws, Lawrence of Arabia, Withnail and I, The good the bad and the ugly* for me, are the most rewatchable films above all. To miss out Jaws, Lawrence and Withnail in favour of newer efforts (how do we know 'The Avengers' is rewatchable, it's only just came out) is just a little depressing. *Ok you got that one.

So this is basically just a list of very good films then!? As much as most of these are classics, there's no way things like Casablanca and The Godfather are rewatchable in the sense that you're suggesting. Correctly, films mentioned above like The Goonies, Jaws, Home Alone, both Nolan Batman films, Jurassic Park, Rocky's etc.. are far more 'rewatchable'. Plus why is 'Raiders' the only rewatchable film from the Indy Trilogy? (I prefer to pretend Indy 4 never happened!) I'd happily sit through Doom and Crusade repeated times - same goes for the Star Wars trilogy (I prefer to pretend the Prequels never happened) and the Lethal Weapon films. All just as much fun as each other, so if LOTR can be judged rewatchable as a trilogy then why can't these? Silly list!

Oh man, I could watch Airplane! over and over again and it never fails to make me laugh like mad every time. However, joining Toy Story, I think Monsters Inc should be included - a good amount of quotes to shout along to in that film.

@Agent69 - Lol they may as well name the magazine Total Nolan, TF your love of all things CN is getting a tad embarrasing now, almost as bad as your Fincher worship from the 1990's (Fight Club 4th Best film of all time at one point. Really?) Surely just copying and pasting the IMDB top 50 would have sufficed?

It's hilarious to me that Inception is number one. With all it's loose characters and seemingly profound ideals, it may be the one, for me, that gets worse over time. All of the other films no matter how bad they are, and the list appears to be littered with a ton of bad movie, are essentially more re-watchable than Inception.

This list is really kind of embarrassing, its mainly movies that cannot endure the hype they receive or are just s****y in general, with a few good movies that make every list anyone makes. Should be called '50 movies you have to re-watch because idiots think they are clever/ some 80's action movies/ it's a wonderful life. I hope nobody got paid to write this list. what a waste.

Surely whether a film is re-watchable or not is completely down to personal choice. If you love a film, you're going to watch it again and again. Just like you would listen to your favourite songs or read your favourite books again and again. I must have seen Pulp Fiction 20 times and can pretty much recite it word for word, for me, it's the most re-watchable film ever made. Having said that however, I've also seen Notting Hill about 20 times just because it's on tele all the f*****g time, I hate it but still end up watching it over and over again.

I love the TotalFilm website and visit it most days I'm at work but.....honestly if you are going to quote The Big Lebowski which I'm quite sure we can all agree is one of the most quotable & well loved films of all time at least find someone who has actually seen it or bothers to check a clip on youtube because the TV dub is probably more accurate i.e "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps" Sort it out!

Goodfellas---totally legit. But in regard to Scorsese, The Departed should have also made the cut. ANYTHING by Wes Anderson as well as P.T. Anderson could have very well been included too, particularly Rushmore and Boogie Nights.

What in my opinion, I think the Dark Knight should've been the No.1 re-watchable film out of the the 50's, coz I watch the film sooooooo many times and I'm quite half-pleased that it didn't made it to the top 50's, but another film by Christopher Nolan Inception is the No.1 rewatchable coz it's hard to follow as u really have to keep up with the plot or you'll get lost

Walter Sobchak did not say "This is how it feels when a stranger f**ks you in the a*s." he said " This is what happens when you f**k a stranger in the a*s! " big difference. The Big Lebowski is definitely my all time favourite comedy!

Where is Predator, Midnight Run, Enter the dragon plus numerous others I can't think of right now? God, I must have seen those films millions of times on TV alone! @pdacoakley, loved the TV dubbing of Diehard, it's a classic lol! But the best one has to be Robocop. Dubs like; "I once called him... Airhead..." "You're gonna be one bad mothercrusher!" "WHY ME, WHY ME, WHY ME!!" 8-D

Not a bad list, but how can you not include some of the best thrillers/mysteries of the last 20 years? Se7en? Zodiac? The Game? Primal Fear? Also, in no particular order, Halloween (the original), Jaws, The Breakfast Club, Bull Durham, Dumb & Dumber, 40 year Old Virgin, Old School, Animal House, Caddy Shack, Unbreakable, American Beauty, Silence of The Lambs, Red Dragon. Those just poppe into my head in a few seconds. Certainly any of these over Singing in The Rain. How many time does you really have to see Fred dance around the lamp post???
