HELPMANN AWARDS

The Helpmann Awards are the national awards for the Australian live performance industry, in recognition of distinguished artistic achievement and excellence.

The Awards were established by LPA and are named in honour of Sir Robert Helpmann's memory and achievements.

Objectives of the Awards

The principal objective of the LPA in establishing the Awards is to nationally and internationally serve and promote the Australian live performance industry by:

• Recognising distinguished artistic achievement and excellence;
• Ensuring the Awards are administered and made with integrity;
• Ensuring the Awards are celebrated by the industry and the Australian community; and
• Ensuring the Awards are the most prestigious awards in the industry and the highlight of each Season.

Announcement of Winners

Winners of the 2013 Helpmann Awards will be announced and presented on 29 July 2013 at the Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House. The ceremony will be broadcast on Foxtel's Arena Channel.

JC Williamson Award™

Incorporated into the annual Helpmann Awards is the JC Williamson Award™, the foremost honour that the Australian Live Entertainment Industry can bestow, given to individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the Australian live entertainment and performing arts industry.
