Tajikistan: Over 392.5 thousand tons of cotton picked in Tajikistan

More than 392.5 thousand tons of cotton were picked in Tajikistan since the beginning of harvest, the Ministry of Agriculture told on Wednesday. 392,681 tons of raw cotton, which amounted to 96.6% of the forecasts, were collected in the country until December 9. This year cotton was planted on the territory of 191,331 hectares.
According to forecasts, the cotton crop will be 406,498 tons. In 2012, Tajikistan collected 417,977 tons of raw cotton, exceeding the figure by 0.5% comparing to 2011.
