The PD of the upcoming drama You Who Came From the Stars begged Kim Soo Hyun for his appearance in the drama.

The press conference was held for the upcoming SBS drama You Who Came From the Stars on December 16 at Yangchun-gu, and was attended by the main members of cast, including Kim Soo Hyun, Jun Ji Hyun, Yoo In Na and Park Hae Jin.

The drama has been getting a lot of attention for its cast of popular stars.

About the line-up of stars, PD Jang Tae Yoo said, “When I was casting for the lead actress, I thought of Jun Ji Hyun right away. The writer also had her in mind too. The same was true for Kim Soo Hyun. Kim Soo Hyun quickly became a star through drama The Sun and the Moon and movies The Thieves and Secretly, Greatly.”

“His character in the drama is a very unique one. He’s an alien from the stars, so we needed an actor who had both good looks and acting skills. There are many young actors who may look good, but lack the acting skills and there are others who have the acting abilities, but look older in appearance,” added the PD. “It was hard to find an actor that suited the character. If Kim Soo Hyun had rejected the casting, we would’ve given up on making the drama. So I begged him for his appearance.”

You Who Came From the Stars is a drama about an alien ‘Do Min Jun’ who came to earth in 1609 and meets Korea’s top hallyu actress 400 years later, to develop a sweet and comical romance.

The first episode is set to air on December 18.
