Mallard served papers by faux-constituent

Monday 28 May 2012 1:26p.m.

Collins tracks down Mallard

Labour MP Trevor Mallard has been served legal papers by an undercover Hutt Valley constituent this afternoon, on behalf of ACC Minister Judith Collins.

Mr Mallard snapped and tweeted a picture of the woman who he says made an appointment with him at his electoral office under the guise of being an aggrieved constituent.

Ms Collins is suing Mr Mallard and fellow MP Andrew Little for defamation over comments they made on radio regarding a privacy breach in the Bronwyn Pullar-ACC saga.

Ms Collins’ legal team has been trying to serve papers to the duo in the last few weeks, with both men trying to avoid the servers for as long as they could.

But Mr Little was served his papers by a man hiding in bushes by his home last week and today, Mr Mallard was served too.

After the undercover woman served Mr Mallard the papers, he tweeted:

“This is the woman who gave false name and address when making an appointment at my office she served Collins papers.”

Ms Collins refuses to make any comment regarding the case.

This is the photo accompanying Mr Mallard's tweet:
