Four Celebrities Joins Official CAU Student Ambassador CAU LOVE

Four celebrities studying at CAU have joined the 22nd class of CAU LOVE, the official student ambassadors of Chung-Ang University. In the presence of CAU Foundation Chairman Park Yong-sung, and CAU President Lee Yong-goo, the four CAU School of Performing Art & Media students - Gwon Yuri, Choi Sooyoung, Kim Soo-hyun, and Park Shin-hye – were inaugurated as CAU’s celebrity ambassadors on May 19, at University Club, bldg.102. Of the new ambassadors, Kim and Park, actor and actress each with an international fan base, did not make it to the ceremony due to their other schedule.

After awarding of appointment certificates, the ceremony featured photo ops and celebrating luncheon. For their 1-year term, the celebrity ambassadors will join the existing 12 members of CAU LOVE in collecting news on campus, giving guided tours to visiting high school students, appearing in promotional publications and events, and answering questions posted on CAU's Facebook page.

“I am delighted to seize this opportunity before my nearing commencement. For the remainder of my university days, I will work hard as CAU’s ambassador,” said Choi, a member of Girls’ Generation. “I have studied diligently ever since I got an admission to CAU. Now as an ambassador, I will do my best to promote my alma mater's name,” follwed Gwon, another member of the globally famous girl group.

“We are happy to work with the celebrity ambassadors. We hope to cooperate with them in various activities to better promote our university,” said Nam Hyeon-uk (junior, Chemical Engineering & Material Science), an existing CAU LOVE member.

At the ceremony, the heads of CAU also offered words of encouragement. President Lee said “I hope you will be proud and responsible keeping in mind that you are representing CAU,” while Chairman Park said “University days are one of the most important junctures of one’s life. I believe this opportunity will be give you a precious, meaningful experience somewhat different from what you get in your professional life.”
