Silver Line Station Destination

*Fares shown are effective June 29, 2014. Travel times are calculated assuming peak period schedules and include five minutes for transfers. Actual travel times may differ slightly.

A $1 surcharge per trip is applied when using a paper farecard. To avoid this surcharge, use a SmarTrip card.

Information about specific rail lines

Silver Line: Trains will run between Wiehle-Reston East and Largo Town Center stations every six minutes during rush hour and every 12-20 minutes during midday, late night and weekends.

Orange Line: When the Silver Line opens, the Orange Line will run every six minutes during rush hours. At stations from East Falls Church to Stadium-Armory a combination of Orange and Silver line trains will arrive every 3 minutes during rush hours. All Orange Line trains will run between Vienna and New Carrollton; service to Largo Town Center will be provided by Silver Line trains.

Blue Line: During rush hour, Blue Line trains will run every 12 minutes. Some existing Blue Line trains will be converted to Yellow Line trains and will run between Franconia-Springfield and Greenbelt via the Yellow Line bridge.

Information about bus services

All  sv_icon_small  Silver Line stations will have bus service.

Existing Metrobus and locally provided bus service will be restructured to facilitate access to the new Silver Line stations. This plan will:

  • Provide greater customer ease and satisfaction
  • Serve new markets
  • Improve reliability and service efficiency
  • Improve the efficient use of the Metrobus fleet
  • Increase transit ridership
  • Encourage the use of Silver Line

Dulles International Airport Service

Dulles International Airport is currently served by Metrobus Route 5A, Fairfax Connector Route 981 and the Washington Flyer. These services will connect Dulles International Airport to Washington DC and the Metrorail system when Silver Line service begins.

When the Silver Line opens, bus changes begin, with a majority of service changed to run to/from Silver Line stations.

Fairfax Connector (Fairfax County) will provide the majority of the local bus service to the four stations in Tysons and one in Reston. Contact

 

Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commisssion

Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) express buses from Manassas and Linton Hall – in Prince William County – will serve Tysons Corner Station, replacing existing service to Vienna and West Falls Church. Contact
