Four-time world champion John Higgins crashed out of the Australian Goldfields Open in Bendigo, losing 5-2 to Rob Milkins in the second round.

Milkins will be joined in the last eight by Welshman Matthew Stevens, who beat Fergal O'Brien 5-2, taking the last three frames with a highest break of 105.

Stuart Bingham will face Mark Joyce in the last 16 after a 5-0 whitewash of Scott Donaldson which included a best of 102.

Stephen Maguire suffered a similar fate to Donaldson as he bowed out after a 5-0 defeat to Welshman Jamie Jones.

Mark Davies compiled a break of 139 in a 5-3 win over Dominic Dale, while China's Xiao Guodong secured his passage with a 5-2 victory against Liam Highfield.
