Kang Ji Hwan′s agency filed a compensation suit for 360 million won against Kang Ji Hwan himself.

S-Plus Entertainment demanded compensation for the harm brought when Kang Ji Hwan failed to uphold his end of their contract, stating that the contract they signed in January 3, 2010 is valid until October 31, 2013.

According to the written complaint, the three main points in the case are Kang Ji Hwan′s violation of his contract, the extension of the contract and compensation for the harm that came to the agency due to illegal acts undertaken by Kang Ji Hwan.

S-Plus Entertainment′s legal representative said, "Kang Ji Hwan signed a separate contract similar to an exclusive contract with a third party, and so had the third party interfere in his activities, taking up offers without the agency′s consent. This is a clear violation of his exclusive contract with his agency."

The rep added, "Since the contract will be extended by a total of 10 months - the eight months the boycott of the Corea Entertainment Management Association lasted and the two months he was barred from any activities after violating his contract - there is no problem in saying the contract lasts until October 31, 2013."

The final point S-Plus Entertainment brought to light was a demand for compensation to cover the harm brought to the agency due to Kang Ji Hwan′s illegal acts. It demanded compensation for the harm brought to the agency′s image, the loans it paid at Kang Ji Hwan′s request and financial damages that arised from his demands for vehicles and the insincere execution of his contract. It requested a total of 361,650,133 won, with 20 percent yearly interest from the day after the complaint was filed to the day the compensation is paid.

Kang Ji Hwan signed his exclusive contract with S-Plus Entertainment on December 2012. In October, however, after making strife with his agency due to disagreements regarding his activities, Kang Ji Hwan entrusted his activities not to S-Plus, but a lawyer.

S-Plus asked the Corea Entertainment Management Association to "mediate the dispute with Kang Ji Hwan," and the two parties are currently in the process of mediation.
