The Julius Silver Residence Center. Completed in 1964 at a time that NYU was expanding its Bronx campus, this dormitory accommodated both male and female students but in a segregated manner. Each walkway led to the male or the female wing of the building.
In 1973, New York University sold its Bronx campus located in University Heights and withdrew from the borough, after being there for eighty years. The campus then was occupied by Bronx Community College of the City University of New York.
