AD STARS selects ambassador

AD STARS organization committee had an ambassador appointing ceremony at Busan City Hall¡¯s 7th floor on Aug. 1. Hallyu star Hwang Jung-eum will participate in events during the AD STARS and also lead in promotions.

The AD STARS organization committee said, ¡°The AD STARS is celebrating its fifth year and is now becoming a festival arena of talent and enthusiasm of the world advertisers. To further promote the ad festival we have appointed actress Hwang who has many distinct charms, as our honorary ambassador.¡±

Hwang said, ¡°This year more than 10,000 entries were submitted to AD STARS and it will not be long before the festival becomes world renowned, taking on the largest scale in Asia. I will do my best so many people can become interested in the ad festival.¡± The actress catapulted to fame through the sitcom ¡°High Kick Through The Roof.¡± Her continued fame carried on to various commercials for which she was employed.

The AD STARS 2012 takes place at BEXCO from Aug. 23 to 25. A total of 1,474 advertisements will compete for the grand prix with a $10,000 award. This year a total of 10,431 entries were received from 57 countries. This is the largest scale compared to 7,130 entries from 46 countries last year. Besides there will be various subsidiary events such as screening and exhibition of advertisements from around the world, public brand culture and promotion, young ad competition and job fair.
