Midwest Junior Hockey League Joins USPHL Mid-West Junior Hockey Division.

March 8, 2015.  The United States Premier Hockey League (“USPHL”) is pleased to announce the expansion of the USPHL Mid-West Junior Hockey Division for the 2015-16 season.  The Division will now include the membership of the Midwest Junior Hockey League – Alpena Flyers, Decatur Blaze, Detroit Fighting Irish, Michigan Ice Dogs, Motor City Monarchs, Soo Firehawks and Travers City Hounds.   These teams join the membership of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League who have already joined the USPHL and allow the USPHL to attain its goal of achieving a 20 team footprint in the Mid-West.

“The consolidation of the Minnesota and Midwest Junior Hockey Leagues into one Mid- West Division will provide the new USPHL Mid-West Junior Division size and better geographic rationality for the membership”  said Richard Gallant.   “The 2014/2015 season has been a great success for the USPHL with in excess of 160 participants that will go on to play collegiate hockey with approximately 75 committed to play NCAA Division One Hockey.   The completion of the expansion to the Mid-West will provide the USPHL, its membership and most importantly our players every opportunity to achieve their personal hockey goals.”

Upon completion of this process, the USPHL membership will consist of approximately 60 members fielding over 110 teams with a geographic reach that spans the complete Eastern Seaboard through to the Mid-West United States.
