Stephen Hendry was blown away by Thailand's James Wattana in the final qualifying round for the German Masters.

The seven-times world champion lost 5-1 to Wattana to end his hopes of lining up in the event. It is the first time in over 15 years that Hendry will be missing from the final stages of a ranking tournament.

The Scot, who has been forced to enter qualifying after slipping out of the top 16 in the rankings, won the opening frame, but lost the next five in a row as Wattana rattled off a string of high breaks - including a 102 and a 70 - to make it into the tournament's main draw.

Ireland's former world champion Ken Doherty produced an amazing comeback to win a nine-frame thriller against England's Sam Craigie to make it into the tournament, storming back from 4-0 down before winning a nervy decider.

But Jimmy White lost out on a spot in the tournament as he lost a final-frame decider aganist Peter Edbon.

Ricky Walden, Mike Dunn and Marcus Campbell also booked spots in the tournament with victories over Liu Chuang, Mark King and Peter Lines respectively.
