Well, you can’t say Fox didn’t give “Arrested Development” its best shot.
The network really did everything it could to expose the Bluths to the widest audience possible, but for some reason very few embraced them. Even a recent episode that parodied the series’ demise acknowledged that to a certain extent.
Friday morning Fox announced it will run four last episodes, billed as the quirky, low-rated comedy’s season finale, in one quiet “oof” on Feb. 10 between 8 and 10 p.m. on KCPQ/13. Not even the guest star appearances of Jason Bateman’s sister Justine and Judge Reinhold will help, though. On the same night, most viewers will be tuning in to NBC to watch a variety of weird interpretive dances and parades, celebrating the opening of the Winter Olympics in Torino.
Oh well. “Arrested’s” tiny fanbase can still hold out hope, however, that either Showtime or ABC, both reported to have expressed interest in saving our Bluths, will pick up the show.
