Sarah Mullally

Sarah Mullally was appointed as Canon Treasurer of Salisbury Cathedral in September 2012.  In this role, she has oversight of the Major Repair Programme, the arts programme, fundraising, the cathedral’s programme of social responsibility and the ministerial life of the cathedral.  Sarah was ordained priest in 2002 and served as an Assistant Curate in Battersea Fields before becoming Team Rector of the Sutton Team Ministry in 2006.  Sarah is a non-executive director of Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and an appointment member of the Church of England’s Dioceses Commission.  She is also Pro Chancellor and Vice Chair of the Board of Governors at London South Bank University.  She is an Honorary Fellow of South Bank University and Christ Church Canterbury University, and has been awarded honorary doctorates by Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Universities and the University of Hertfordshire.  Sarah became a Dame Commander of the British Empire in 2005 in recognition of her contribution to nursing and midwifery as the Government’s Chief Nursing Officer for England, a post she held from 1999 to 2004.  Sarah was elected to the AEC Executive in June 2014.
