भक्तामर-प्रणत-मौलि-मणि-प्रभाणा-
मुघोतकं दलित-पाप-तमो-वितानम्।
सम्यक्-प्रणम्य जिन-पाद-युगं युगादा-
वालम्बनं भव-जले पततां जनानाम् ||1||
यः संस्तुतः सकल-वाड्मय-तत्व-बोधा-
दुद् भूत-बुद्धि-पटुभिः सुर-लोक-नाथेः |
स्तोत्रैर्जगत् त्रितय-चित-हरैरुदारेः
स्तोष्ये किलाहमपि तं प्रथमं जिनेन्द्रनम् ||2||
बुद्धया विनापि विबुधार्चित-पाद-पीठ
स्तोतुं समुधत-मतिर्विगत-त्रपोऽहम् |
बालं विहाय जल-संस्थितमिन्दु-विम्ब-
मन्यः क इच्छति जनः सहसा ग्रहितुम् ||3||
वक्तुं गुणान्गुण-समुद्र शशाड्क-कान्तान्
कस्ते क्षमः सुर-गुरु-प्रतिमोऽपि बुद्धया|
कल्पान्त-काल-पवनोद्ध-नक्र-चक्रं
को वा तरीतुमलमम्बुनिधिं भुजाभ्याम् ||4|| सोऽहं तथापि तव भक्ति-वशान्मुनीश
कतुं स्तवं विगत-शक्तिरपि प्रवृत्तः|
प्रीत्यात्मवीर्यमविचार्य मृगो मृगेन्द्रं
नाभ्येति किं निज-शिशोः परिपालनार्थम् ||5||
अल्प-श्रुतं श्रुतंवतां परिहास-धाम
त्वद् भक्तिरेव मुखरीकुरुते बलान्माम् |
यत्कोकिलः किल मधौ मधुरं विरौति
तच्चाम्र-चारु-कलिका-निकरैक-हेतुः||6||
त्वत्संस्तवेन भव-सन्तति-सन्निबद्धं
पापं क्षणात्क्षयमुपैति शरीरभाजाम् |
आक्रान्त-लोकमति-नीलमशेषमाशु
सूर्याशु-भिन्नमिव शार्वरमन्धकारम् ||7||
मत्वेति नाथ तव संस्तवनं मयेद-
मारभ्यते तनु-धियापि तव प्रभावात् |
चेतो हरिष्यति सतां नलिनी-दलेषु
मुक्ता-फलधुतिमुपैति ननूद-बिन्दुः ||8||
1.When the gods bow down at the feet of Bhagawana Risbhadeva the radiance of the jewels of their crowns is intensified by the divine glow of his feet. Mere touch of his feet absolves the being from sins. He who submits himself at these feet crosses the barriers of rebirth into the state of liberation. I convey my reverential salutations to the first Tirthankara, the propagator of religion at the beginning of this Era.
2. Celestial lords, having Prudence acquired through the true understanding of all the canons, have eulogised Bhagawana Adinatha with hymns captivating the audience in the three realms (heaven, earth and hell). I (Manatungacharya, an humble man with little wisdom) too shall indeed endeavourer to eulogize that first Tirthankara.
3. Only an ignorant child tries for an impossible task like grabbing the reflection of the moon in water. Similarly, oh Jina! out of imprudence alone I am trying, inspite of my ignorance, to eulogize you, who has been revered by the gods.
4. O ocean of virtues! Can even Brihaspati, the guru of gods, with the help of his unlimited wisdom, narrate your virtues pure and blissful as the moon? (Certainly not). Can a men swim across the reptile infested ocean in fury, lashed by the gales of deluge? (Certainly not).
5. O Apostle of apostles! I do not possess the wisdom to narrate your infinite virtues. Still, inspired by my devotion for you, I intend to compose a hymn in your praise. As a doe faces a lion to protect its fawn, forgetting its own fraility, similarly, devotion is forcing me to face the great task of composing hymn without assessing my own ability.
6. O embodiment of pure wisdom! I have so little knowledge that I am an object of ridicule for the wise. Still, my devotion for you stirs me to sing hymns in your praise, as the mangoes sprout during the spring to impell the cuckoo produce its melodious Coo.
7. The malignant karmas accumulated by the living beings are instantaneously wiped out by eulogizing you. Just as the piercing sunrays dispel the all enveloping dense darkness, black as a bummle-bee.
8. I compose this Panegyric with the belief that, though composed by an ignorant person like me, it will certainly please noble people due to your divine influence. Indeed, when on lotus leaves, dew drops glitter like pearls presenting a pleasant sight.
